Computing Resources from Off Campus (VDI)

As a service to HPU staff, faculty, and students, virtual desktops that contain some HPU licensed applications are available for use.  This may be achieved from personal devices (PCs, Macs, and some mobile devices) provided adequate Internet access is available.

1. To get started click here to go to the download list.

2. Once you have selected the correct version for your operating system, choose the download button to begin.

3. Once your file downloads, run it. It will walk you through the installer.

The “default connection server” is: CLOUD.HPU.EDU

You may now log into the VMware Horizon Client.  If you typically work on a VDI, then make your selection as you would from the office.  Please save your work as usual.

If you typically use a device in the office that is not a VDI (ie Mac, physical machine, laptop, etc.) then choose Desktop Lite.

Once logged into "Desktop Lite", open a web browswer to my.hpu.edu.  Once signed in, choose "MyDrive" located in the QuickLinks section of the window.  It is recommended that you save all work here.  This will allow you to easily retrieve your data regardless of where you are located.  Another alternative is to save your work onto a USB drive.  There are other methods, but more complex once you arrive back in the office.
